Nelson Gomes, President and CEO of PriorityOne Group, will be presenting at the ASCA 2019 Conference & Expo.
His 90-minute session, "ASC Cybersecurity Update: An Interactive Workshop," is scheduled for Friday, May 17, at 3:45 pm. Nelson will be joined on stage by Bo Jayakumar of information security company Cyberstone. The session's description is as follows:
"Join cybersecurity experts as they take you on the journey of a cyberattack through an interactive, informative video. Witness the far-reaching destruction a successful attack can cause and learn what to do—and not do—to keep your ASC from becoming a victim. ASCs are in the crosshairs of cybercriminals who view small businesses as attractive, lucrative targets due to their low-level security measures. Verizon reports that 58% of malware attack victims are categorized as small businesses, while the Ponemon Institute reported that in 2017, cyberattacks cost small and medium-sized businesses an average of more than $2.2 million. For ASCs that fail to take cybercrime seriously, the financial and legal consequences could be devastating."
Registrants can earn 1 AEU (regulatory and legal issues) by attending.
The ASCA 2019 Conference & Expo will take place May 15-18 in Nashville. It is expected to be the largest conference of the year in the ambulatory surgery industry. To arrange an in-person meeting at ASCA 2019 with Nelson, contact us.
